Below you will find the schedule for our special events throughout the year. These events are subject to change but this schedule will likely remain the same. All events are designed for middle school and high school students unless otherwise specified and friends are always invited. To receive text updates and reminders, text “RRWV” to 81010.
Our weekly schedule consists of WiRED (for middle school students) every Sunday morning at both services and small groups for high school students every Sunday.
Blacklight Bunco
Students, get ready for an unforgettable night of Blacklight Bunco on March 9th at 6 PM! This fast-paced dice game is easy to learn, packed with
energy, and the perfect way to meet new friends. Plus, you'll have the chance to win awesome prizes!

Emerge WKND
This will be our third year attending EMERGE WKND. This winter retreat will be hosted with Bible Center and River Ridge Teays Valley and will feature awesome worship, small groups, time at Skyzone, and more!
Christmas Party
All middle and high school students are invited to join us this Sunday from 5-7 PM at the church for a fun-filled evening with a Christmas movie, hot chocolate, games (including an Amazing Race-style challenge!), snacks, and time to hang out with friends. Wear your favorite Christmas sweater or pajamas and bring a friend—we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Friendsgiving 2024
Join us for our Friendsgiving event where will gather together, talk about the impact of generosity, and pack Operation Christmas Child boxes with our friends. This is a great way to kick off the holiday season!
Fall Fest
Join us for Fall Fest on October 13th from 6-8 pm! Middle school and high school students are invited to a laid-back evening filled with great food, a cozy bonfire, and fun games. It's the perfect chance to relax, hang out with friends, and enjoy the cool fall vibes. Don't miss this chill night of food, fun, and fellowship!
Kiddie Pool Kickball
All middle school and high school students are invited to join us for an evening of snacks, popsicles, and kiddie pool kickball! We will have slip and slides, kiddie pools, and a plenty of food to go around! Wear a bathing suit or something you can be active in but don’t mind getting wet! Friends, as always, are invited! Amazing Race
Race around Charleston with your friends in our annual photo scavenger hunt! This event is for middle school and high school students and is a great way to start off the Fall semester!
Emerge SMMR
Emerge is a summer camp held at Summit Bechtel Reserve on June 10-14th with students from other local churches. Campers will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of adventure activities like rafting, duckies, rock climbing, and zip lining. In the evenings, there will be high-energy worship and lessons to encourage spiritual growth.
SUPER EARLY BIRD is $375 base cost for camp. Valid until April 14th.
EARY BIRD is $400 base cost on April 14th. Valid until May 12th.
STANDARD PRICING is $425 base cost. Valid until May 19th.
Color Clash 2024
All middle and high school students are invited to our Annual Paint War! We encourage you to register and come dressed in white. Feel free to bring your friends along too! This year, we're excited to extend the invitation to 5th graders as well. Join us for a vibrant and fun-filled evening!
Cornhole Tournament
Students are invited to join us for a cornhole tournament and a night of corn themed snacks. This will be an outdoor event (weather permitting) and there will be prizes for the winning team.
Team Trivia Night
Movies, music, pop culture, history, etc… These are just some of the categories you can expect at our team trivia night. Grab your friends and come hang out for an evening of snacks and testing your knowledge against other middle school and high school students from around the county.

Extreme Gift Exchange
Join us for an "Extreme Gift Exchange" on December 10th at 5 PM, dressed in your favorite Christmas pajamas or an ugly Christmas sweater! Bring a wrapped gift worth up to $10 and get ready for a fun, quirky evening of surprises and laughter. It's the perfect way to dive into the festive spirit with fellow students!

Squad Night
Our third annual Squad Night event will consist of snacks, crazy games, and a chance to meet some new friends who attend River Ridge. Students will be separated into teams and will compete in “Minute to Win It” style games.

Game Night
Middle school and high school students are invited to join us for Game Night on February 19th from 6-8pm at the church. We will be having a night of fun and fellowship with loads of pizza and games to play. Whether you're a board game enthusiast or a video game fan, there's something for everyone. Bring a friend and come join us for some good old-fashioned fun! We'll have plenty of laughter and memories to be made, so don't miss out!
Christmas Amazing Race
This event is a Christmas themed version of our Amazing Race event. Students will be given challenges and will race around Charleston with a leader to complete as many as possible. Students are encouraged to dress festive and invite a friend or two.
Emerge Summer Camp
All students are invited to join us for EMERGE 2022
Tuesday, July 5 - Saturday, July 9
This is an adventure camp where students will be going rafting, swinging on aerial ropes, playing paintball, and spending a day at ACE Waterpark! We will all come together in the evenings for sessions of worship and time together in scripture. This year, we will have downtime for students to enjoy the activities on the property including: ultimate frisbee, disc golf, a saltwater pool, and a gymnasium for basketball games!!
The total cost for this trip is $450. This will include the cost for all adventures, meals, and lodging. Fundraising opportunities will be offered for students to help offset the cost.
Color Clash
All middle school and high school students are invited to join us for our annual paint war! Students will need to register and wear white! Friends are invited to attend as well!

Lawn Days
All students are invited to join us for a casual time of hanging out with friends and playing lawn games. This event will be hosted completely outside and will be weather dependent.
Senior Session
We are excited to be hosting three small groups for recently graduated seniors at River Ridge! These groups will take place on June 8th, 15th, and 22nd at 6pm. We hope our seniors will come out to talk about taking their next steps with Jesus while they take next steps in their journey of life!
WiRED Second Service
Our middle school ministry meets every Sunday morning during each service. Students will get to play games, hear a quick lesson, and then talk about life with their awesome small group leaders.
